RB40 won't spam you

I’m in Denver for FinCon 2012. I missed FinCon last year because baby RB40 was only 6 months old, and I didn’t want to leave him at home. This year, he is much bigger and more independent. Grandma came up to stay with him while I attend FinCon this year. I’m really looking forward to meeting all my blogger friends and learning a huge amount.

Retire By 40 is a Plutus Award Finalist in the Retirement category! We actually won the Plutus Award last year, but I don’t think we’ll be able to repeat this year. The competition really are great blogs. Check them out when you have a chance.

Best Personal Finance Blog for Retirement

Update: Jeff Rose @ Good Financial Cents won the retirement category. Congratulations Jeff!

Here are some great posts to keep you occupied while I’m away.

Aloysa @ My Broken Coin is having some problem keeping up at her blog – Work. Life. Balance. Hell.

Roshawn @ Watson Inc. Why Do We Worry About Money?

Lance @ Money Life and More – Passive Income: Not As Passive As You Think Part 1 – Part 2.

Jeremy @ Modest Money – Why You Shouldn’t Buy Cheap Pet Food. We buy Royal Canin for our cats. It’s more expensive, but we want our cats to be healthy.

Cindy @ Midlife Finance – The Pleasures and Pain of MLMS.

Steve @ Ready to Quit My Job – You Want To Quit, But What Are Your Options?

Kathleen @ Frugal Portland – State of my Debts: September Check in

Jefferson @ See Debt Run- The Cost of Pet Ownership. Pets aren’t cheap and you probably should avoid them until you can take good care of them.

Kurt @ Money Counselor – Do We Control Our Fortunes?

I’ll upload some pictures if I can find the time to do it. :)

Update: We landed in Denver and shared a cab to the Hyatt with Jeff and Mandy Rose via twitter #fincon12. Wow, this twitter thing is quite useful after all. I’m having a great time so far and have already met so many people. It’s awesome to put a face to a blog.

I hope you are having a great time at fincon! Wish I could be there! Thanks for the mention and sorry you didn’t pull out the Plutus Award :(

William @ Drop Dead Money September 7, 2012 at 4:42 am

Nice meeting you and Mrs. RB40!

About the prize: hey, what can you say – bunch of financial bloogers: what do they know? No taste at all! :)

(Oh, and that typo was on purpose, before anyone rushes to correct it)

Have fun Joe, and thanks for the mention.

I really wish I was down there in Denver too. I’m sure I’m missing out on some good parties and getting to meet lots of awesome bloggers. Next year I’m in for sure. And thanks for mentioning my post Joe. I don’t feel bad about not winning the Plutus awards I was nominated for too. With so much great competition out there it is just cool to be mentioned alongside them.

HAve a blast and enjoy the good times. I might attend next year if I don’t burn out.

Sounds like you’re having a blast. Maybe next year for me. Can’t wait for your recap of FinCon12!

I just woke up from the longest sleep ever. I’ll bet you feel the same. Great to meet you at FinCon! It’s fun to put a face behind the name.

I think getting listed in final list is itself a award. So, Congratulations Joe Udo. I missed FinCon 2012 due to some personal reasons as well as a great opportunity to meet with some experienced finance bloggers. I have read blogger’s personal experience who participated in FinCon 2012 and who won the prize.
