Everything you ever want to know about 401k and more. Here are some links to help you make all kind of 401k decisions.

This week I wrote a whole series about 401k. Take a look if you haven’t had a chance to see them.

Part 3 – retirebyforty’s 401k, a river of tears. I think this one is the most fun to read.

Part 1 – investing fundamental #5 – The Low Down on 401k This one is long and has a lot of info, kind of dry though.

Part 2 – Traditional VS ROTH 401k. This one was difficult to write, I’m going to need to rewrite this at some point. In the archive.

Joe, First, thank you for including my article about NOT BORROWING FROM YOUR 401K. Second, with a goal of retiring by 40 and your age of 36, your asset allocation is very aggressive. It has a great potential for rapid growth, but I can only assume that if there is a down market that zaps your portfolio in the next 4 years, you will reconsider retiring by 40! (BTW, I think is is a very solid agressive allocation!)

If we have another 50% crash, then yes I probably can’t retire. I am planning to slowly reduce risk over the next few years so the portfolio will be more moderate.
I think the only really high risk allocation in my portfolio is the 20% emerging market. The 20% international are mostly invested in DODFX (high % European large cap.) Thanks for commenting.

Jeebus, this is an awesome roundup. Including this in a link roundup at the end of the week. This is timely as people start to think about 401K results at the end of the year.
